CYBER SECURITY AND INTERNET GOVERNANCE

As part of our ongoing work to identify, understand and respond to new and emerging security challenges, DCAF addresses the linkages between cyber security and security sector governance and reform (SSG/SSR). Drawing on its thematic knowledge and existing operational programmes, DCAF is elaborating a new programme on cyber security and internet governance.

This programme has the following objectives

  • To understand threats and challenges posed by the internet to effective governance of the cyber domain and to promote multi-stakeholder approaches to address these challenges.

  • To support the development of national security legal and policy frameworks on cyber security and internet governance.

  • To provide practical tools and guidance to assist national authorities in ensuring more effective governance of the internet and cyber security sector and to encourage the use of these tools in capacity building support
